Default Any ideas on this connector

The usual thing while investigating something else i came across this, cant believe i missed it before. There is nothing to plug into it and I cant find it in the wiring schematic for my 92 W150, maybe its aftermarket? it has a pair of red/purple and a pair of white purple.

Any ideas folks?

Only a stab at a wild guess, but usually plugs (unterminated ones) in vehicles are for an accessory that your model didn't come with. Like cruise control, trailer brake, some camper special stuff or just could be something someone removed. I suggest looking at the fuse box and seeing what is all called out that ISN't In the truck and that should give you a great idea of what that might be for. I found like four of those on my 1994 Range Rover and then looked at the fuse box, I was missing the same number of accessories or features that weren't ordered on my particular truck. One was heated rear seats, and a cooler built into the center console.

I have a plug on the side of my hood release also and it isn't on my wiring diagrams either. Mine only has 2 wires, red and white black.

Thanks - I'll check the fuse box when I can (had our first snow today) but otherwise won't pay it much attention
