you can get code readers that will read obd1 but they are usually a bit expensive.

Anyone know how you can delete all the codes that are stored on the computer, if possible? I tried unhooking ground wire from battery for about 15 min but didnt work.

If you just need the codes read, try Autozone. They do that for free as may some other places.

thanks,i was just wanting to delete the existing codes, but from my understanding have to have a code scanner to do so..

i think along with disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes you also have to leave your headlight on and the keys in the run position but even then you will still most likely get a code 12 until you have started your truck 50 times.

i agree, to drain the existing power from the computer.. i did that but didnt clear codes.. ill try it again tomorrow, other than that may have to have a scanner

Well thanks for the help. The light hasn't been coming up at all but it has only been a day. I'm going to keep watching it for a while.

You will always have code 55 (signals "End of Codes") and as CW said; code 12 will be there until after 50 starting cycles.
