How to remove AC from 89 Dodge W 150 318 motor
I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have a 1989 Dodge W150 with a 318 engine and AC.
My AC unit is bad so I need to remove it. However the drive belts for the Alternator run off the AC down to the crank. Is there a replacement idler pully available to take the place of the AC unit? I have not been able to find one after market or though the dealer Also what did Dodge use for the same vehicle with NO AC?? Doe anyone have any pictures of their 89 dodge with a 318 and No AC? so I can see how its running the 2 belts? I appreciate any help you can give me Thank you |

If you check out your local pick-a-parts you might be able to find the idler that fits where the AC compress goes. It bolts to the same brackets and in the same location as the compressor.

Went to upullit today and not a single vehicle that wasn't serpentine belt setup.
