Default lifted leaf springs

The front leaf springs on my 89 w100 look like they are sagging. They have 2" or 3" blocks under them. Not sure if they are factory blocks or not. The blocks under the rear springs look a little taller. I want to replace the front leaf springs with 6" lifted springs. If I discard the blocks in the front and replace the springs with 6" lifted springs what size blocks go on the rear to keep the truck level? The rear springs appear to be in good shape so I don't think I need to replace them.

Wow...110 views and not one response. That must be some kind of record. Or I asked a stupid question. The only reason I asked is because I don't like it when the trucks sit higher in the back than in the front. I don't want to assume I need to lift the rear an inch less than the front and end up with the front higher. That looks even worse. I just need to know if starting at stock height, should I lift the front and rear the same amount or not?

I don't think you can really know, since springs all age differently.

There weren't any blocks up front from the factory. Does the truck look level? Most of the front leaf springs have that flat to almost inverted look. Maybe someone added the blocks to level it.

You should never NEVER have blocks under the springs in the front not only are they illegal in most all states they are very dangerous.

Agreed. Ditch the front lift blocks. Bad news. Get lift leaf springs that will give you the lift amount that you want up front, and then adjust the back to make it match.

Agreed with the above two. Ditch those front blocks ASAP.

And its quite possible they have sagged.

And if you were to order a 6 in lift kit with rear lifted springs instead of a block then you wont have a block at all in the back. Most lift kits automatically level your truck. At least my rough country lift did.
