And of course it's hard to find any info on it.

I did alot of work to the truck today, changed valve cover gaskets, put on a new rear brake cylinder, changed read differential oil, going to do the front tomorrow. I have tranny leak, it looks like its coming from where the arm that changes gear on the tranny, is there a o ring there? Im going to change fluid and filter tomorrow also.

There is a small lip seal like a front bearing seal only smaller.

Yes. The seal installs from the out side but it is easiest to drop the pan and pull the shifter shaft. Make sure you have the seal before you take it apart. I had to get mine from the dealer.

Thanks, getting mine from Orylies, they had to order it. I plan on using ATF plus 4 in the tranny, thoughts on that?

I think ATF 4 is a waste of money in our transmissions. Our trannies were not built or designed to need it. There is even some discussion about a problem with the rubber parts in our trannies not reacting well to it. It is a synthetic and if you are going to use it you should flush out all of the non synthetic fluid. Remember you are only changing about half of the fluid when you change the filter and what is in the pan.

My question is can you even get Dextron II anymore? I was thinking the ATF4 was the replacement for that.

The fact I can't use ATF4 sucks since I have 1.5 extra quarts from my Ram.
