Default brake thunk

hey all. driving along here and im getting a light thunk that is definately brakes as i hear it more the faster im going. it only happens if im going under 40 and it goes away with even the slightest press of the brake. turning one way or another makes no difference.

i recently replaced both rotors, inner and outer bearings, and pads. im tjinking its a loose pad since it goes away if i hit the brakes. any thoughts?

My first thought is that your rear drum shoes are mis-adjusted. Is the sound coming from the front or rear?

Ok, i got a half day at work so i finallly pulled the front wheel off to check out the pads. Lo and behold, both inner and outer pads are loose on the caliper. Theyre not in danger of flying off and GOING anywhere, theres just space between the mounting tabs so when the rotor makes contact with the pad it moved it a bit and the thunk i hear in the cab is the pad tabs making contact with the caliper. It never did this with the old pads, and the passenger side hasnt done this. Both metal clips are securely bolted to the top of the caliper... is this going to be a problem? or is it something that will correct itself when the pads rust themselves to the caliper?

I'm confused. Is it just one thunk, or constant thumping? Is it occurring when you are not on the brakes?

Did you clean the caliper mounts when you changed the brakes? The slide part should be nice and clean. That may allow a little space to develop.
