Where is the voltage regulator
I have a 89 dodge W150 4WD 318 engine with the TBI. I just replaced my alternator as it died and my voltage seems to waver between 13 and 14.5 while driving down the road no radio, headlights heater fan or anything else running
So looking though the haynes manual it says my yr has a voltage regulator and its operated by the computer and located on the firewall.
Well I have looked everywhere and can't find it. I got a few electronics on the wheel well but none look like the pic they show in the manual or parts sites like autozone advanced auto etc
Can someone point me in the right direction please
Thank you

The voltage regulator is in the computer. It is integral to the computer so it can not be changed w/o changing the computer
Check your voltage with a meter don't trust the gauge on the dash to be very accurate.

can the voltage regulator be change separate from the computer
you can not change the voltage regulator separate from the computer but for about $40 you can install an external voltage regulator like what is used on the older carbed trucks. it will wire right up.
