I dropped a 400 B block into my '85 that had a /6 and A833 OD combo. I used the 143 tooth flywheel and 11" clutch that came with the engine, bought a dual patter NP435/A833 bellhousing from mopartruckparts.com, used the mini starter off the /6, and I reused the z bar, I just had to adapt it a little bit. On the /6 bellhousing it bolted to the bell with a little bracket and 2 bolts, for the big block theres a post that screws into the bell. Not sure what diffrences you'll find with the 318, hope this helps.
