Rearend Swap
I've got a buddy that has an 91 D250 with a Cummins. He snapped the pinion gear and has been trying to swap junkyard rearends in it's place. So far he's picked up 2 or 3 of them and none of them have been right dimension wise. What years would be interchangeable? I haven't had the time to go out to his house and see whats going on, but he's about fed up with it.

Wolfie- Lol... That cracked me up.
Junkman- I was under the impression that all 1st Gen Dodges had the same track width in each weight class... 1/2 tons are all the same... 3/4 tons.... Also, 3/4 and 1 tons may share the same track width. What it really comes down to though, is exactly what wolfie said. Measure it and be done.

It will have either a D60HD or a D70 (D70 more likely) so that chart will not help you much.
He also needs to know what his gear ratio is and if he plans on keeping the RWAL brakes. If he doesn't care then he can select from additional model years.
Again the biggest thing with a diesel is the gear ratio (not just diesel but...) he doesn't want to get one and it turn out to be a 4.10 or 4.56. His either has 3.07 or 3.54
Here is an axle ID chart that shows the D60, D70 and others
