Default Running an auxilliary power tap for accessories.

So I got sick of looking for a high enough current power tap for accessories in my truck. Right now I have an aftermarket head unit which is hooked up to factory wiring But I am also into CB radio, and HAM radio so have a HAM radio (10M) that also gets into the CB frequency range(11m). Right now that radio is hooked up to a feed that can only supply 10a so I needed to run an aux power tap into the cab. I ran a single 10ga which will be good enough for maybe 40a but I think I'll do a 4ga for a power tap feed. If any of you have done this for either a big stereo amp or whateveah, you know what I mean.

I have always done this with every truck I have ever had since I also always end up doing a 4 or 5 channel amp and a sub and either 2 or four speakers. But either way, it is good to have a full current power tap in the cabin.

Noramlly the way I do it is get onf of those big power terminals from Phoenix Gold that will supply a couple 0~4gha cables, and a few 10ga feeds than swap it out for the positive terminal on the battery. One of the big feeds goes to the starter, then the other goes inside the truck and the small ones go to whatever I had hooked to the battery that 10ga will feed. Like anything that was tacked to the stock batt cable or whatever.

This time I will do the same and run the 4ga inside the cabin and do a barrier strip so I can tap off of it anytime I need a ton of current.

if anyone is interested I can post pics and such.
