? on Balljoints
Have a 1990 b350 and I am doing some much needed work on the steering components. My question is, Are the ball studs in the ends of the tie-rods and the idle arms replaceable or do you have to replace the component when these wear out. If so ???How do you get the old ones out????
Thx guys!
Thx guys!
as far as I know you just get new components, All the tie rod end's I have ever done came with the balljoint part of it on one end, I've never done them on a b350 but i have done them on my w150 and numerous other vehicles....
Thx beakerztoyz. That's what I suspected but I have not done much front end work before so I wasn't sure. I know the balljoints in the control arms can be replaced but the rest look like they are made as part of the component.
As far as I know the 150 and 350 are mostly the same on the front end with the 350 having heavier springs and shocks.

The w150 would also indicate a 4x4 truck, vs a 2wd van. But for reference, I believe the 2wd truck and van front ends are functionally identical. I believe the 1/2 ton vans use some heavier duty parts that only the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks get.
