I have an 1989 D100 SWB 3.9l v6 3spd auto truck, that I want to go ahead and put a small block in it till I find a good deal on a cummins.

The motor I have to swap in is out of a 1990 D250 its a 360. Has trans with overdrive on it, and too long for the swb. I have all the parts to bolt it in. But Im not clear on the transmission. Can I use the 360 with the v6 transmission?

Does the 360 torque converter have a balance on it? Can I use the 360 torque converter on the v6 trans? or can I swap tail shafts between the two transmissions?
