The bar from the latch on the side came off at the handle. I was able to re-attach it put it all back together and nothing. The two swing arms in the handle do not move when I lift the handle nor do eith latch on each side move.. What am I doing wrong?

I just had one of the bars come off of the latch assembly at the handle. Haven't yet tried to fix it as I have been busy. But think it won't be easy because tailgate has spray in liner on it. Although they did put screws in for that back plate after it was lined. Which is weird since they lined the plate/cover...

 

If you haven't figured it out, there's a little lever at easy latch that you can operate with a screwdriver or key. I'm reluctant to make the handle work.... It's a little bit of theft protection.
