I am wondering who here has a truck with a 3.9? Any problems with ANYTHING? I have a 1988 with a manual trans 2wd regular cab and a short bed. I have had it for almost 2 yrs this summer. Had to replace the water pump and then the timing chain gasket and went ahead changed the timing chain and gear. Now the trans is out the outer shaft bearing and the reverse gear etc also ($1300-1400) or so. The temp and another gauge does not work. The P.O. said he had it looked at and it is fine. The paint is bad and but hopefully it will run. The motor is good just needs valve gaskets and plugs. Needs some other things also. BTW the trans shop has had the truck for a month and keeps coming up with excuses now he will order the parts and will have truck next week hopefully
