headlights
had one of my headlights go out on me last night, is it really worth it convert it from sealed beam to just a replaceable bulb? and where would I find a good kit for a good price?
I switched to Hella H4 assemblies. In addition, I installed the headlight relay upgrade and the difference is remarkable.
Here is what I used for housings.

I used Sylvania bulbs.
There are other housings available; Cibie and Rampage are 2 I can think of.
Here is a How-To on the relay upgrade:

Whatever you do, do not go and buy those crappy Chinese HID or projector beam lights.

depends on what you pay for replacement sealed beam lights. most of the time those replacement housings and a good set of light bulbs usually cost more than you will spend sealed beam lights in the entire time you own your truck. i find even just the replacement bulbs for those aftermarket housings are about twice as expensive as a sealed beam light. now the aftermarket light housings do put out better light than sealed beams but putting your headlights on relays makes a big difference ether way you go. now if your willing to spend a bit extra money out for lights you could go with led headlights.

thanks guys, and that was my plan eventually to switch out everything to LEDs interior lights and exterior lights
also what switches do the dome light connect to are they the little metal ones the front of the door where the hinges mount or are they the bigger plastic ones like near the tire placard in the door jamb? my map light works but the dome doesn't, im assuming its ground controlled because its got power all the time regardless if the doors are open or not and its a brand new bulb since I figured the bulb was just shot I replaced it. but it wasn't...
