Default timing cover leaking antifreeze

Truck is a 88 D 100 3.9 motor, manual trans,p/s and no a/c. About 1.5 yrs or so it leaked and had it fixed at a shop. Went back to the same shop and said labor is 4.5 hrs. I can't see it being that much maybe 2.5 to 3 the most. What do you guys think? Labor would be about $300.00 or so and then antifreeze. Al ready have the gasket. thanks

It is a lot of work to remove all that stuff from the front of the motor just to gain access to the timing cover.
