1973 W300 Powerwagon front brake drum removal

Im trying to get the brake drum off to replace my wheel cylinder and I cant figure out how to get the drum past the manual locking hub.

Looks like you have to remove the hub and hub bearing from the axle shaft.

Pretty much sums it up. Drums up front.... Ouch. Considered converting to disc?
