Default Front End Clicking

Hello, recently there has been a clicking coming from my front end, it seems to more to the drivers side. I'm trying to figure out if it is the ujoint or the brake pads. The clicking is usually consistent, but not always. I replaced the passenger ujoint last spring, so its possible that the drivers side wasnt far behind. The ujoint doesn't feel like it has any play in it, but that doesn't mean its good either. I'm thinking its the brake pads because the clicking stops when if I lightly step on the brakes, but Im looking for secondary input.

OK, so I was on the correct train of thought. Is there any danger in running them this way for a while? Before this even started happening I was planning to redo the front brakes along with the everything I haven't yet replaced of the front end over Winter break. If I can push it off that long I'll do that, otherwise I'll have to take off work one of these next weekends and do it.
