Default Alternator overcharge battery

I have a 1992 Dodge D150 6.9 L the Battery was boiling today and I checked the voltage with truck running and it was over 15 volts going up to over 16 with motor at higher rpm. I have begun to believe that this is a voltage regulator problem. The voltage regulator is in the Computer?? is that correct. Where is the computer? Where can I buy a used (preferred) or new? Low on funds Please advise thanks

Might want to call up your local parts store and ask. Probably quicker than waiting for an answer here.
