I have a 1990 Dodge Ram half ton. It has a v6 with 3 speed automatic transmission. I want to swap the v6 with a 318 or 360. Will the transmission hold up to a v8? Having trouble finding it on the web. Help would be wonderful.

 

If you have a 3 speed, you more than likely have a A904 trans. This same trans was offered with the 318, but not the 360. Its a light duty transmission, and i doubt it would hold up behind a 360. Im pretty sure no matter which engine you choose, you would need a bellhousing for a v8, the one on your v6 has a different bolt pattern.
