Default need help 85 power ram no power

So I bought a 85 power ram with 5.2 2 barrel carb from my boss for $300 It didn't have a battery in it so I hooked jumper cables from my jeep straight to the cables on the truck it turned over but slow figured not enough power through the cables alone. "Cheap cables" so I grabbed a battery my boss had hooked up to a solar panel for a couple weeks put it in the truck hooked up the cables went to connect the jumpers from my jeep and huge sparks I hooked them up properly red to red black to black. Now after that no lights will come on in the truck and nothing when I turn the key can't find any blown fuses what could be wrong? Sorry for the long post

There's a fusible link in one of the wires on the positive side of the battery if I remember right, that may be blown out.

Default replaced fusible link didn't fix it

I checked the battery I had put in it and the poles were reversed negative to positive and positive to negative so that's what caused the problem but still not sure what burned out checked fuses all are good

Did you check the fusible links as suggested above?
Their located in wire harness above inner fender on driver side.
There is a 10ga wire (60 amp alternator) coming off the battery.
Follow it to the 4 or 5 fusible links.
The fusible links have a high temp insulation so that when the wire inside melts it doesn't start a fire.
Start by feeling and bending looking for soft spots in the links.
If you find soft spot chances are you found the problem.
Factory service manual will be great, not Haynes manual.

I bought the truck from my boss bean sitting since 09 engine smoked bad when it was last ran has 80,000 miles paid $300

Didn't even know this was possible with a battery till now
