Default Did I get screwed by Pepboys or is this normal?

So I just moved to Florida, needed a truck, found a 91 D150 V6 in great shape so I snatched it. I took it over to Pepboys to get the oil changed, fluids topped off, had them replace the negative power cable since it was all frayed, rotate the tires, aligned, basic stuff.

Anyway, it's been about 2 months on the nose, and the truck was running really rough today. I couldn't figure out what it was the dash showed nothing wrong. It felt like the engine was just working really hard all of the sudden. So I get home, let it cool down, and I start looking around for anything obvious. Well, there's no damn oil. Bone dry. Nothing, not even a residue on the dip stick. Now I'm no grease monkey, but I pay attention to my vehicles and I would have noticed an oil leek big enough to drain the whole damn engine in 2 months. So is my truck just burning through that much oil, did Pepboys screw something up? And if I have been driving my truck every day with no oil, how much damage have I likely done to the poor thing?

Didn't your idiot light come on? Didn't you notice any lifter noise? I doubt you left there with out any oil or it would be obvious real fast.

So is my truck just burning through that much oil
This is what you need to find out. Was the pvc valve replaced? What weight oil did they put in? Do you notice any smoke coming out the tail pipe ever?

Also get under the truck and check the oil drain plug and oil pan gasket for leaks.
