Default New to the game !990 d150

Hello Guys, Just got a 1990 D150 with the 5.2 318 manual 4 speed and had a couple questions. I am wondering about getting a different motor I found a cheap 5.2 318 that came out of a 92 automatic dodge for 100$. Would that work? is it worth it? I have a coolant leak. not sure if its a gasket or crack.

the other question is I have found what seems to be a broken arm for an air pump? maybe have done some research and haven't been able to figure it out. wondering if it is important. the Truck seems to run

pretty well without it.

You picture shows where the A/C should be. Looks like IT was deleted.

I'm new to this game, but isn't what's missing there the smog pump? Or was there one on the '90? I just got an '88 and pretty sure that's what is in that spot, and the AC is on the other side or on top, don't remember off hand and it's dark out right now. Seriously don't quote me on this, as I said, new to the Dodge game.

Yep - you have a LA block. Your '92 is a Magnum, and things will be in different places. You'll also need the wiring harness & ECU from that '92 truck as well.

You can swap in a magnun with out a harness/pcm if you plan on using the tb injection. You will have to swap the distributors though. Is this a CA truck? I had the the same one and it didn't have the smog pump. You may just want to fix the leak instead of swapping motors. There are a lot of places to look for coolant leaks on these motors.

My 1990 D-150 with 5.2 TBI Smog pump is on drivers side along with diverter valves

You are correct. The smog pump is missing, possibly some brackets and diverter valves. it appears that the crossover hose that comes from the other side had been plugged into the left side A.I.R manifold check valve. It should go to the diverter valve. A wrecking yard is your best bet to get all the stuff that is missing. I have also had decent luck with Amazon and E-Bay for these trucks.
