Hello all. I am a new member and have some questions about an engine swap. Not sure if this is where I need to put this so here goes. My son just totaled my 91 Ram 250 with a 5.9Cummins. My question is can I put my Cummins in an 85' 250 that currently has a gas engine in it? My engine, transmission and running gear are good. Will the frame handle the extra weight of the Cummins? Will it be a nightmare adding the clutch system and converting the electrical for the diesel? The 85 is a gas/automatic. Both are 4wd. Any advise is appreciated.

I don't mean to be rude, but this is kinda like women's underwear...... If ya have to ask, you probably won't like the answer.
At minimum, you'd have to change the computer, harness, fuel pump, and probably a lot you haven't thought of yet.
I've done swaps before, and there always seems t be something overlooked when initial plans were made.
