Default Not running

I just recently bought a 1992 D250 what I'm told is it has a 360 motor, a few days ago it started running kinda chugging like at stops and when I first take off, well today I was going down the road slowly and it acted like it was going to stall, I accelerated and it kinda popped like a small backfire, twice from stops it did that 3rd time it shut off and will not start, is it dead?? Please help,

Do you hear the fuel pump when you first turn the key to on? Might want to check if you have good fuel pressure. Is the check engine light on?

Perhaps it is the crankshaft sensor. My truck would turn over but not start until I changed that sensor. I cut a hole in the floor to access the sensor which is located in the transmission housing.

if it is a 360 in a 92 and is "stock" (not swapped in) wont have a crank sensor, was last year for LA series for 360, if 318 (or newer 360 swapped in) then yeah it would have crank sensor behind passenger valve cover.
