Which Carb?
#2
If your truck didn't come with the dreaded Spark Control Computer (readily apparent from the giant black plastic appendage attached to the air intake), I believe that it would have had a standard Carter BBD 2bbl from the factory. Not a bad little carb, but nothing fancy.

Ok. After some discovery, I think this truck had the lean burn setup originally. The ignition appears to be changed over. I assume the distributor has been changed to hei distributor because it will run. The problem is it has the wrong carb on it. It's a holley 3604/3605?? Anyway, none of the linkage is right. Will any Carter BBD mechanical carb work?

But occasionally you'll run into a GM-style module which would look like this:
As for the BBD fitting, that's a harder call. It should fit the manifold correctly, but if the linkage has been altered to fit the Holley (you said the linkages were wrong?) then you will likely have to do some tinkering/swapping to get it back to where it will work correctly with the BBD.
