I'm putting a 318 from a 1997 into a 1986 truck. I had to take the donut style motor mounts off my new engine and replace them with brackets from an older engine to match the rubber pad style motor mounts in the truck. Fortunately the later engine still has the correct castings to accept the old brackets.

Now I have two questions. One bracket is longer than the other. Which side does it go on? And the holes that bolt onto the engine are off center. Which way do these mount? With the slanted side up or down?
