just purchased a 1989 D350 w/360. best engine oil to use? 298*** km

Does your oil cap specify the oil type? What the manufacturer recommends is usually what's the best to use. Welcome to the forum.

any oil as long as it registers on the dipstick. these old trucks really don't care. personally i run shell rotella 15w40 since it is a bit thicker and has extra cleaning additives to keep the engine clean

no, I do believe its a replacement cap as it doesn't say.

the factory caps on these trucks never told you what oil was suppose go in the engine anyways.

What's you oil pressure like hot at idle? If it's on the low side use a thicker oil.

Mine doesn't leak or burn oil so I use 10-40 synthetic
