Default Poly Fuel Tank Repair

So my 1988 D100 has a 13" horizontal crack. Cannot locate anything aftermarket nor any salvage tanks closer than 250 miles away. Has anyone had any luck repairing one of these or possibly using another vehicles tank that may fit or having a new metal tank fabricated by a local shop to use? It may hove more cracks than that for I see fuel leaking in to locations...won't know for sure until I pull it.

Thanks

I would never try to repair one that has cracks. I fixed mine that had a hole with a plastic welder (after rinsing it with water).
