Ignition switch Headache 1984 D 250 with 360 V8
My truck developed a problem, I went to start it up, the starter spun the motor up as usual, but motor did not fire, the thing carried on spinning the engine even when Id took the key out, i never moved so fast and disconnected the battery, that was the only way I could stop it.
I tried a new Starter relay, no difference, The starter motor itself is brand new, and was working just fine fine, I am wondering if the switch inside the column is the likely culprit, or where else to look ? Anyone know how to get the column apart to swap the switch ? can't find anything on You tube . . . TIA

it is possible. unplug the brown wire from the starter relay and then you can hook the battery back up. if there is power at the orange wire at the ignition switch connector then it is most likely sticking. does the truck have tilt steering?
