look to the left of that heater hose. temp sensor should be hiding on the intake behind the a/c pump. a/c always makes them harder to change and see.

I finally got the truck back after a long stint in storage!

I started tuning it up and was fixing a small leak from the upper radiator hose to the thermostat.

While doing so I found two cut wires. I traced the wires back to running into a wire harness I believe goes to the firewall (see photos).

Could this be the temperature sensor and it was cut?? Thanks!

Cut wires were laying next to the thermostat. I traced them to this plug.

Wires eventually lead to this harness, which I think goes up eventually into the firewall (maybe to the temperature gauge?)

Update!! I am 99% sure I found the gauge temperature sensor behind the alternator. I’m going to change that, which will be a pain in the ***.

But I still want to know what those two wires go to! Those two wires were laying very suspiciously next to an empty, threaded hole near the thermostat. (See picture, yes I know I’m leaking coolant, new part on the way).

Here is the link to the forum post where I found the sensor location.

Empty hole right above the leaking thermostat

A/C Compressor, interesting… I’ll go look. I hope you’re right!
