Haveing trouble with leaking water pump

Default Haveing trouble with leaking water pump

So I just bought a brand new water pump for my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 I bolted everything up and filled the radiator and then the pump started leaking from the bottom of the pump what do I do

is it coming from the weeping hole on the bottom of the pump? if so it is a bad seal in the pump and there is nothing you can do other than replace it again.

Did you install the gaskets properly and did you put thread sealant on the bolts that go into the water jacket? I've seen gaskets get a wrinkle, I've seen coolant seep past the bolts and so on. I've also seen water pumps that were rebuilt but not really. I got one once that was bead blasted and inspected but never apart and not rebuilt. Where is the coolant leaking? If it is under the shaft behind the pulley out of that little bitty hole in the housing, you have a bad pump. Maybe a bad seal from the factory if it's a new unit or a poor rebuild.
