I’m thinking about buying a w250 5.9L Cummins single cab dually out of the junkyard. It has been sitting for a while and has about 100,000 miles on the odometer. Anything I should look out for before buying or Is it even worth getting out?

i think it depends on what they want for it and what it is missing. really hard to say if it is worth saving or not without seeing it.

What year? The million mile odometers didn't come around until late in the 80's. There may be some Cummins trucks with the old 99,999 mile units. I have to wonder WHY it's in the bone yard.

because someone was likely stupid enough to scrap it instead of selling it or parting it out. heck there has been many times where i have seen nicer vehicles in the scrap yard than i see driving down the road. there is thousands of $$ in parts on the engine alone as long as it isn't completely destroyed. most places have about a $500-1000 core value on the injections pump alone

My '02 Ram was headed that way when I got it.
