I recently changed out my ignition cylinder key lock on my 81 Dodge ram d250, automatic, no tilt steering wheel with the EXACT same new cylinder and now the power is working in reverse. I turn the key back to the acc mode and I have full power to the fuse block. I turn the key to the forward position and only get power to two fuses and no instrument gauges or idiot lights. I cannot find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me NUTS!!
To me it sounds like it’s somehow connected or wired in reverse. This is the wiring diagram from my truck, (86) so I know it has circuits you don’t but I’d think the ignition switch wiring itself should be the same or closely similar from like 77 to 93?

Thank you for that info but I don't think it has anything to do with the column wiring because other than sliding the old ignition lock cylinder out and sliding the new one in I did not change anything else. I did not move or change any of the wiring that's what's so strange. I can't find a bad ground or bare wire or anything. It's crazy 🤔😱
Was there anything that shifted or spun that could be 180’ out? Because from what you described I can only think it’s something being clocked wrong when things slid back together. I’d have no idea what though.

I have no idea but thanks for responding. I ordered a new ignition switch and going to Dodge on Monday to see if I can get an OEM ignition lock cylinder. I'm going to trace all the wiring under the hood later today and see if I can find anything else. If all that fails the truck goes to the highest offer!! 😩
