Default 1992 Dodge d150 3.9 need help please

1992 Dodge Truck running ruff. Was able to get home but now will not start and run it tries to but then stalls out any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks

It can be a lot of things. First thing I'd do is get a can of starting fluid and take the lid off the air cleaner. Have someone shoot some into the intake while running and see ift smooths out. You might have a fuel pump heading south. That's the quick and easy check.

If that doesn't make any difference, how many miles on the engine? Has the timing chain ever been changed? Any codes in the computer? You can pull the codes with the key dance. With the ingition off, turn the key on, then off, then, on, then off, then on and leave it on the third time. Do NOT try to start it. Just the on and off cycle. That puts the computer into self check mode and the check engine light will start to flash. One flash followed by 2 flashes for instance is code 12. That's the battery was disconnected in the last 50-100 key starts. Code 55 is end of session. Anything else will give you an idea where the problem is.
