235-75-15 load range XL. There should be a sticker in the door jamb or under the hood with the tires from the factory. I've always felt the factory size was a bit small. I'd step up slightly. If you're going to tow or haul, get LT rated tires.

I've had nothing but dodge products all my life. Well a couple of jeeps mixed in but jeep Is owned by the same company.I've had several where the size listed on the sticker on the door was NOT what that vehicle came with originally. On my wrangler it listed 205 75 15 on the door, and even the window sticker said it came with 215s.
I've made a few dodge pickups that the door said 195/75/15 which is a size I have NEVER seen. Ever. And that's as an alignment guy going back to the days when your truck was brand new. I have dealt with more tires than one guy should ever had to considering my line of work.
The smallest I have ever seen on a Dodge truck back then we're 205/75-15. And most people upgraded to at least 225s, most usually 235s when the originals wore out.

There were more than 1 suspension package on each level of truck, I've seen 100s and 150s with GVW ranging from 4800 to 6050 which changes things. I've seen door stickers on those trucks that said anywhere from those 195s to 31-10.50/15. And again I've seen so many come in on original factory tires so many times that are not what that sticker said.
As I remember those stickers said (yeah it was small print) above the listed size "MINIMUM Tire size" NOT "factory issue tire size". There is a difference.

Just curious why you're so worried about this?

Just looking to buy a new set...I bought the truck in used condition. The current tires on it now are 255 70R 15's. That size is a little expensive to buy and not easy to find.

Thanks for your previous message !!

I'd go slightly narrower with a 245 or the factory 235 and increase the side profile to 75. Low profile tires aren't the best for a 4X4 truck unless you're going for a "Bro" truck look. Tirerack is decent but on things like tires, I like to shop local shops. There's a local independent shop where I'll go for off brands but get some really good prices and tires. One advantage is you can roll a tire out to your truck to see how it looks. I think on my '84, I ran 31 or 33 inch tires. 15 inch tires are not as popular anymore, but they are still available.

235/75r15 is a real common tire. Stock on my '90 ramcharger 4wd. 2wd usually came with smaller, but the 235 should still fit.

My 85 D150 has some ancient 235/75r15s on it something like 2004 date code.
I happened to be at my local junkyard recently, came across a NICE set of Michelin Defenders in the same size. They were in some early 90s Chevy suburban wheels. I had the yard dismount them and I bought the set of tires for a decent price, these were date codes 2016 and were like new. I will be mounting those on my D150

If you can find them, I ran a set of 31X10.50/15 tires on my '84. It filled the wheel wells just right and never rubbed. That old truck went everywhere and even broke trail for the fire department when we had a heavy snow. The tin worms eventually got to it.

I miss the old gal. My current '96 Ram 1500 is okay, but I still miss "Betty". Here's a tip, if you paint it, don't paint it like that. I lost it a couple of times in dark parking lots.
