1991 Ram Flooding
I have a 1991 Ram 150...318 engine , after it sets up for a week or so the engine floods ,misses and smokes..it smokes the sparkplugs up really bad. I put new plug wires on it. Didnt help any. Any suggestions will be helpful
Probably - Might be a problem with the TBI computer. I'm not too good with the TBI trucks - Mine's an 84 D150 with the 318 and a 4 bbl carb - I'm better with the carb engines.
Strange problem for TBI fuel injection. Is the smoke black or blue?
Try the easy things first, run a can of SeaFoam through the gas tank. NAPA/CarQuest will have it for about $6. That will clean out the fuel system.
The only way extra fuel can get in there is from leaky injectors. When you shutdown the engine look down into the throttle body and see if the injectors are dripping, they should NOT be.
