Head over to 4btswaps.com . (I'm a member over there) They are all about swapping of cummins and should be able to help out on this. Don't mean to name a different forum when on this one, but they have helped me a lot with one of my projects. I'm now here cause I'm looking into 1500 4x4 5.9 ltr which will be a new project for me.

The site is mostly for the 4 cyl cummins engine, but they have a buncha knowledgeable folks that know allot about working with the 6 cyl engines too as far as swapping and mating different trannies to the different power plants. good luck-WD

 

The nv3500 or nv4500 will fit. I think most half tons with the v6 or 318 had the nv3500, while half tons with the 360 had the nv4500, and all 3/4 tons had the nv4500, i think. I'm almost positive that anything you find in a gasser truck with the same body style will work, with maybe some slight tweaking if its from or to a 360.
