Dear Ol' Grouch, I forgot to ask about how to go about the electronic changeover on my 84 d-150 slant 6. Would be thankful for any information.

At one time, Mopar Performance sold a complete kit to convert an engine to electronic ignition. I suspect that since not a lot of people race the Leaning Tower of Power (slant six) it may no longer be available.

The engine control is readily available. It's the brain box. It will mount on the inner fender or firewall and not on the air cleaner. You can get a regular electronic ignition from the junk yard. You can then either use it or use it as a core for a rebuilt electronic distributor. It will have the vacuum advance on the distributor. The hardest part to get will be the plug for the brain box. Ballast resistors should be readily available. I was looking for an electrical schematic but found this instead.

It's been 20 or 30 years since I converted one so if the article is clearer, go by it. I think a conversion kit might be available at Speedway. I know the plug harness was dropped a long time ago as I bought up all the locally available ones at that time. If you can find a kit with it, the junk yard will be your source. When you snip one out of a car or truck, cut the wires as long as possible.
