Default Bouncing gauges, flickering lights, flashing lights. Please help!

1993 w250- 12V

Hi all,
I’ve recently run into a problem where whenever I turn my headlights on, my gauge (speedo, volt) needles start bouncing around like crazy.
Additionally, whenever I go to turn my turn signals on, both turn signal indicators turn on a flash inside the cab.
I noticed the lights flickering slightly at night a few months ago, but I’m not sure why my gauges are being affected by it now.
I’ve tried to install an external voltage regulator to no avail. Could it be the alternator? VSS? Or a number of problems? Please help!!

Is it only the speedo and volt gauges or all of them? Do the correct lights flash when you turn on the turn signals? Why did you attempt to put in a external voltage regulator? Did you check output of the alternator at the battery(volts)?

Hi Moparite.

It is just the speedo and volt gauges, and only when my headlights are turned on while driving. When I turn on the turn signals, stationary, I checked and saw that the correct lights flash. I attempted to put on an external voltage regulator as my battery was putting out 15V, however this did not solve my initial problem.
I did notice this morning that there is a red fusible link that's burnt out in the engine bay, could this be my issue? could it be a grounding issue or something along those lines?
Obviously my next move is to go and repair that broken link, im just baffled as to why these lights act so erratically in the cab and why my speedo is bouncing every time I turn my headlights on.
I was also told by a friend that this may be a result of my Crank position sensor, which is something ive been meaning to replace as I can't fit a business card in the gab beneath it. However, I dont see why this would affect my lights and speedo.
