I was replacing the heater controls bezel. I’m missing the clip that keeps the temperature cable from slipping off the control lever. Thought I would squeeze the wire a little tighter and broke it off. Way to go me!! What’s the best way to attach the wire to the control? It would still be long enough if I can get it affixed. Or do I have to replace the cable?
Is this it? If you have enough there you may be able to bend it back to the original shape. You need to heat it with a torch first as you found out. Be careful not to melt the sleeve.
No, that would go on the valve end. My research has revealed that the end is supposed to be coiled which mine wasn't. That leads me to believe that this was broke before and someone just bent it to try and make it work, which it didn't. I've been checking with used parts suppliers but so far nobody has one. One place said they're impossible to find.
