I am trying to replace the high pressure power steering hose on my 86 318 4x2 truck. The local part stores are providing a new one which does not have the same metal tube configuration as the OEM.
Do I have to risk bending the new part to match the OEM configuration or go to the dealer and hope to find one that I can afford? Thanks for your help. Ken

What is the part number of the hose they are giving you?

The hose does not look like that, NAPA sold me NPS 7-1482 and Advance sold me 71234, and I think both parts were identical.
The hose has these numbers on the crimped connector: 16160, and in another spot on the same connector: 4333 057 25517
The VIN is 1B7HD14T8GS118622
Here is a picture of the old part:
Thanks again for your help

Here's the problem, the hose you have...Part# 4333057 is listed in the factory parts book for a 360 with remote mounted reservoir. What you need to try is a NAPA # NPS72013 or POWERCRAFT 71399. Maybe someone has changed things around before you bought the truck?
