hello all, newbie here

I been helping my brother in law out with his new to him 84 dodge truck 1/2 ton 2wd w/ 318 2bl 3 speed auto.
It running alot better with a tune up and an intacke manifold gasket changed. tranny won't kick down but im suspecting that cleaning the govenor will fix that. ok current concerns, change the oil put in the require 6 qt with filter change and nothing showing on the dip stick added another qt up 7 qts now still nothing showing. HMM ok first suspect is wrong dipstick or an over size pan. SO the favor i ask is could some measure the legnth of there dipstick and tube and let me know what it is. in the mean time we are going to drian the oil back out to see if we still have 7qts or if it is going somewhere.
