Default Questions concerning replacing engine in 88 D100

I have a 1988 Dodge D100 with 287K that my father gave to me. The engine is really tired and I am interested in an inexpensive replacement. The 88 318 has the TBI, is getting horrible gas mileage (<10mpg), and is running very bad. I am looking at a 85 318 from a police diplomat (360 heads/4BBL/hi torqu cam) and a 89 Jeep 360 with a 2BBL. I was wondering which would be the easiest engine to swap. Could I install the TBI on the 85 or would it be easier to install the cables to hook up the carb.

Thanks,

Lonine

318 would technically be easier..but the 360 isn't a hard swap...318s internally balanced and the 360 externally balanced and the pass? motor mount is different i believe. yes you can swap the tbi just swap intakes.
