Default D100 Gearing?

Hey i've got an 85 half ton 3 speed. I recently put some 35's on my truck and now need to gear it, it revs at about 2200rpms @ 110kms or 65MPH. I'm gonna be doing some towing.....snowmobiling seasons here so I was wondering if anyone has a similar set up and what they rev at on the highway with 4.10's?

Default RE: D100 Gearing?

I typically run 2800-3200, in the 65-75 range. I still get ~10mpg on the freeway, 12 if I go 55. Apparently 4.10's are on the "fuel efficient" side of gearing for 35" tires, and 4.56 or 4.88 would be better for power (according to the charts). My findings though, is that with the 4.10s I can still tow a 6000 pound load at 60mph in 2nd (screaming RPMs though) up any mountain pass I've come across with no overheating or problems whatsoever. and it's not exactly pokey for a big old truck either, but I've got a decent engine setup. Could be better, could be a lot better (needs new heads bad).
