When you say computers, is this a spark control module near the battery?

Does the distributor have 2 or 4 wires coming out of it.

Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at coil positive terminal with the ignition in "Start" and then in "On". What readings do you get?

Do you have a tilt steering column?

Manual or automatic transmission?

Are the cap and rotor in good shape?

You would be best to get a subscription for your truck at www.alldatadiy.com and use the "No Start" diagnostics to resolve your problem. These will take you thru a logical sequence for troubleshooting.
