Default 1991 spedomoter problem

I gues the problem with it is I don't know what I'm looking for. My Haynes(which I hate by the way) tells me that the 1991 Dadge Ram Charger has a cable spedometer, but I see nothing and am being told that it is a electonic speed sensor inside the transmission. So help please, I have no spedometer or odometer, so I don't know how fast I am going or how far I have come. Can nayone out there help me, my husband gets enough speeding tickets with having a spedometer.
