Default Just bought a 200 Pickup.

I am new to the Dodge forums, and I need some help. I just bought for 350 dollars a 1976 D or W(letter is missing on truck) 200 powerwagon with the 318 motor, 36x12.50 tires, no gauges inside, and it runs, I think. First off, I searched all over the net for specs on this truck, but couldn't find axle types or anything. It is four wheel drive, and the 4wd selector has Low Loc, Low, Hi, and Hi Loc on it, does this mean the truck has locking differentials? Also, need to put a new gas tank in the truck, which I have, is this a hard process? Thanks for help, any suggestions will help! Pictures to come.

D=2wd, W=4wd.

Your transfer case won't have anything to do with locking differentials. What it means is that you've got full time 4wd. I'd wager you've got open diffs, with a limited slip rear possible, but not likely.

Being a 3/4 ton, I'd suspect that you've got a front dana 44 and a rear dana 60. My book isn't handy so I'm not going to check it for you though. search images.google.com for dana axles and see if yours match.

New gas tank is easy, just drain em first.

Thanks for clearing that part up for me, I hope this truck will be a good, fun offroading toy, if it isn't completely broken when I try and drive it.

I forgot to mention, and it may be obvious, but the loc settings are for off road and they lock the differential in the transfer case. It's open in the other settings, and locked like a normal truck for off roading.

Ah, thanks, I needed that because I had never seen that kind of transfer case before. My other truck is a Toyota with just 2wd, 4hi, neutral, 4lo.

I need some help finding the linkage between the transfer case shifter and the case itself. I have been looking online and at autoparts stores and no luck to be found yet.
