Default Help ANTI LOCK & Brake

Hello All,

I just purchased a 1992 D250 Diesel (63,000 original miles). Not sure if timingor coincidental or what, happened when I was towing. Anti Lock and Brakes light are staying on, and my brakes are locking up with little foot pressure. I checked the fluid level and it is fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be.

I also need to mention that I recently had a stereo put in along with a brake controller.
Both installers appeared to know what they were doing.
I disconnected the trailer this morning and the brake lights still stay on, however the vehicle now seems to be braking fine. Anyone else have a similar experience with the brakes and or brakes acting up?

What kind of brake box? If it's a manual type, you have to set the precent of power the trailer will apply. If automatic, go back to the installer and tell him it's not right. In either case, you shouldn't have the anti-lock and brake lights on. When did they first appear? was it after you used the brake box (and/or trailer) for the first time?

Yes, I first noticed it when it had a load on the trailer, I guess the box should read 0 volts till pressure is applied. but instead it was reading 4.5 volts while just driving without using the brake. I believe the unit is a Trail Rite, you set it and then your done.
I was going to check and see if all the fuses are OK.

Somebody botched something in the brake controller install.

I'd agree.
