Default 4x4 Dodges sit low on the drivers side?

I have never had a Dodge truck although I did have a 1974 Dodge Ramcharger. I noticed something weird when viewed from the back it sat about 1.5in low on the drivers side compared to the passenger side. After I noticed this I noticed it on almost every 1970s thru mid 90s Dodge 4x4 pick ups too. Is this something they all do? My new to me 1991 4x4 150 is the same! It sits about 1.5in low on the drivers side so I want to even it out.

Mine is that way also. I just figured it was due to the gas tank being on the driver's side. Ramchargers have a centered tank and you don't see it on those.

Mine sits perfectly level side to side. I did replace the front leaf springs with heavier units in order to handle my snow plow. SixGun is right about the fuel tank and you can add the fact that all vehicles carry 150-250 lb load on the drivers side that is not always applied to the passenger side, the driver. The steering system is not exactly light either and it is also an added weight on the drivers side. All of this added weight over time does take its toll.

Default My Ramcharger also did it.

That is the truck I had that I noticed it on then started looking at other Dodge trucks of the 70s~90s era and noticed a lot of them did it. I did notice that any I saw with an aftermarket lift did it far less or not at all. My 91 has stock suspension so I'll either do a add a leaf or have these re-arched to give another inch and a half.

Driver side spring sag.
Pretty common.

Just find a passenger side spring in the JY and replace it.

I saw a 90s Dodge just like mine on the way to work toady and it was sitting at least 2in low on the drivers side....it's an epidemic! I think first Ill get a set of helper springs and stock them on then get the stock springs re-arched like I did on my Ramcharger or get a full set of 2in lift springs.

hey SEAL, don't you also have a second battery in your truck mounted on the passenger side to balance things out?

my 81 sits fairly level up front. my 93 ram charger seem to sit a bit lower on the drivers side.

The batteries are on both sides but with mine I think the snow plow springs up front are what keep it level. They are very stiff, rides rough but it does the job.

i guess the heavier springs help but on normal springs i think the side with the battery is the side will sits a bit lower. i know on my dads ford the passenger side has the battery and it sits lower than the drivers side and he has brand new springs.
